Writing a prompt inside a 200 character box
Musicful opens on a Simple tab with a Song Description field and a model selector reading V1.0, the free default.
Simple mode is the fastest route to a track, but it caps the description at 200 characters. That is the interface talking, not the model: the paid tiers advertise a 1K style allowance, and Musicful's own homepage showcases prompts several times longer than the box will take.
I wrote a deliberately specific instrumental brief so I could judge how closely the output tracked instructions.

Two tracks back, and only one of them usable

Both finished inside two minutes. The interesting part is what came back: the same prompt, submitted once, produced tracks of very different lengths.
The download menu that routes to pricing
Opening the Download submenu on a finished track shows MP3, WAV, MIDI and two lyric video resolutions, with a Commercial License row one line below.
A green credit diamond sits beside all five formats. That marker is the only signal that any of this costs money, and it looks like decoration rather than a gate.
Musicful advertises free song creation, and that claim holds. Getting the file off the platform is a separate transaction that nothing in the flow prepares you for.
The model that costs the most is the free one
Musicful runs five generation models in one dropdown, from V1.0 up to V3.0, and its own descriptions position the older versions as the weaker ones.
Opening that dropdown produced the finding that reframed the rest of my testing.
V1.5, V1.5X, V2.0 and V3.0 all carry the same 15 credit price per song. My credit history shows what V1.0 charged me for the two tracks above.
Stem separation, priced per split
Stem extraction opens as a modal with two options rather than a single button.
This is the feature that justifies Musicful's existence next to Suno and Udio. Neither rival gives you multitrack stems with MIDI export, and producers who want AI audio inside a DAW have very few places to go.
Music video credits, and how fast they climb
The music video generator takes a finished song, a concept of up to 5,000 characters, a video type and an optional character image, then renders visuals against the audio.
On first load, with a short default clip selected, the panel quoted 127 credits to generate and 28 credits to preview a storyboard. Paying a song-scale price to look at a draft is unusual on its own.
Then I dragged the clip selector out to cover a real section of the song rather than the default sample.
Set against the plans, the arithmetic is unforgiving. Basic opens at 1,500 credits, which covers a single 42 second clip and leaves you 357 credits for the rest of the month. Standard's 6,000 credits stretch to about five of them, roughly one complete video. Only the top two tiers make the feature usable at any volume, and they are the only ones that include it.
What the homepage promises and what the FAQ says
One inconsistency sits in plain sight on the marketing site, and it is the kind that only bites after you have published something.
The homepage sells studio-quality, 100% royalty-free music cleared for commercial use. The FAQ, a few clicks away, states that a download grants a non-exclusive perpetual licence while Musicful retains ownership of the generated tracks.

The generation side of Musicful is better than its reputation suggests. Two tracks came back in under two minutes, the phonk brief was interpreted properly, and the stem splitter with MIDI export is something genuinely missing from Suno and Udio. Everything around that engine undercuts it. The free model charges 20 credits a song while every paid one charges 15. Download formats and the commercial licence are unmarked until you click them and land on a pricing page. A 42 second music video quoted 1,143 credits, nine times what the default clip suggested. The homepage promises royalty-free music while the FAQ hands ownership back to Musicful and restricts the entry plan to non-commercial use. Producers who want AI-generated stems inside a DAW, and creators who accept paying per export, will find real capability here.
